Akomanga 27 2017

Kia ora and welcome to Akomanga 27 2017, ara,  karanui 2017.

Week one has been a very pleasant week.  We have established our rules(ngā ture) and have elected some very exciting young people into some very important and responsible roles.

Congratulations to Jakeleah Paki and Vincent Kake as they were elected by their peers as kaiarahi tama and kaiarahi kotiro.
Similar acknowledgement also goes to Toni Timiti as the 2017 Line Master.

Along side our numeracy and literacy programme Akomanga 27 has adopted the 55 day challenge as part of our hauora programme. This involves ngā akona katoa in Akomanga 27 completing a 1 kilometer jog/run/walk every school day.

Incorporated into our learning programme is fiscal literacy, where ngā akona katoa will be leaning about financial management.  More information will be added later.

Week two has been very well conducted with all the akona coming together and bonding positively.  We have a few minor challenges this year but so far so good.

Totara Park herenga was awesome.  All our students had an awesome day with 100% participation.  We were fortunate that all students brought their A game and made brilliant choices.

We are looking forward to 2017 with a lot of positivity and anticipation.

Nau mai haere mai ki te akomanga rua tekau ma whitu o te tau rua mano tekau ma whitu.

The 55 km challenge , is a challenge that you can all achieve. 25 teachers have started a biggest loser competition this term, maybe you will see some of us out there joining you.
